The former finance minister of Afghanistan was forced to leave the country after the Taliban came to power and is currently a taxi driver in the USA, the BBC reports, according to Mediafax.
Afghanistan is changing radically under the leadership of the Taliban. Following the change of regime, the lives of many Afghans have been turned upside down, including that of former Finance Minister Khalid Payenda.
If he recently represented his country at world economic forums, he is now a driver for a ride-share transport company in the USA. Payenda left Afghanistan and looked for a job in America.
The former minister is also a consultant and gives lectures on Afghanistan for students in the American city where he lives.
